Ingress Badge
thingiverse
I've included the f3d file to make it completely customisable for Ingress players. There are two main sketches to edit under lanyard: Agent Name and Agent Faction. For information, the Ingress font is Coda, which you'll need to download and install if you want the badge to match this font. I also had a lot of problems printing in this font with raised text using a 0.4mm nozzle - the best solution was to keep the font size at 9, as any smaller resulted in lost lines all over the place, even with thin walls. The embossed text wasn't as much of an issue, but it can look untidy in places. Export and check the design carefully, especially the raised text, in your slicer before printing. At a bed speed of 0.15mm, a six-hour print takes about 13 hours to complete. I set a personal width limit of 75mm to prevent the badge from looking silly - if the agent name was too long and didn't fit, I abbreviated it and added an asterisk to the end of the name, but it's up to you. To change the width of the badge in Fusion 360, right-click on the Base sketch, show dimensions, adjust the default 70mm width to your desired size - the whole badge should scale accordingly. If it doesn't, try fixing it and don't worry if it looks overdimensioned - that's how I did it and it worked for me! The badge features two cut-outs at the top: one for a lanyard and the other for a carabiner to clip onto a bag or whatever. The Level section has two areas designed as punch-outs, allowing you to print only one level per Agent. As they progress, they can simply punch out the next level - up to ten times, after which they should be officially certified. Print the badge in your preferred colour (blue or green) - I used Filaprint's pastel blue and pastel green - or whatever suits you! I hope you like it! Post comments and feedback below or share suggestions on how to improve. This is version 2, but it's been through about 40 iterations to get here. Enjoy!
