I loved the toy and found relaxing play with it, but as any print-in-place project, it was challenging to make it work after removing from the bed. Some of the ones I make broke while I was losing them up. Moreover, due to the size of my hands, I wanted it a bit bigger, but it does not scale well. So I decided to design my own and the result is here. You can print if from the already provided stl files or create your own variation custom fit for your enjoyment. The customizer can generate each individual cube piece or the whole assemble, so you can mix colors or quickly make one with just one color. If printed in the suggested orientation, the little cubes need no infill and no support. The area on the corner fillet is enough to hold it in place but if you have problems with adhesion, a brim soves it easily. The hinges are mounted with a segment of filament inserted on the proper place. The hole for the filament on the other end can accept if cut in a 45 degree angle, so there is no need to cut it strait after cutting it to the size on the previous hinge. The filament should stay in place just by friction, but if yours get loose you can make it stays in place with a drop of super glue or, my preferred option, using the nozzle of your 3d printer to inject some molten plastic in the hole and cutting the excess afterwords. This option is labor intensive but gives excellent results. There are 4 different pieces that fit together in the right way for it to work. The easiest way to put it together is mount one hinge on each little cube on the side marked and then assemble it before fiting the other part of the hinge. The ideal size for your infinity cube is such that it must fit comfortably between your pinky and index finger. For most people it result in something like four or five centimetres, but can goes low as 3 of high as 6. On the customizer you must use the size of the little cube piece, so if you need a 6cm size infinity cube, specify 30mm there.I do recommend you to print one piece at time on your first try and check if the tolerances for the hinges and holes are OK for your printer. The provided STL files have the tolerances for an Ender 3 printer.Have fun and, please, post your makes!
