Infinite Castle Design
thingiverse
I've posted models for part of the tower, but the entire download is available at https://pinshape.com/items/27705-3d-printed-entire-infinite-castle-design-part-one-28mm-32mm. This design combines 3D print and laser cut techniques to create a 28mm fort or castle. The structure is totally component-based, allowing users to build a fortress of any scale or dimension based on its exterior contour. The model shown here is just a proof-of-concept build and is not intended to be impressive. The potential of this design far exceeds what I'm showing. This release is open-source and took about a month to complete using my spare time, from start to finish. Here are the print settings: Print Settings Rafts: Don't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3mm Infill: 10% Notes: Any single extruder printer can be used, with very few parts requiring supports. Post-Printing Laser cutting and video: You can use any texture you want for laser cutting. Floors and catwalks are laser cut from a single pass of 1/8th inch baltic birch ply. BMP images are raster engraved twice: once with a half-tone dither and once without, at a black-and-white threshold of around 90. Walls are laser engraved using XLPE foam, engraved with a 40w laser at 100% speed and 75% power, with a simple dither at 250 DPI. It's essential not to increase the resolution too high, as this actually doubles the cutting power of the laser. Below is a preview video; it's low-quality, long, and uninteresting, so lower your expectations if you want to watch it.
