Infill Percent Display
thingiverse
This educational display was created for the Arcade Library in Sacramento as part of a series designed to teach people about 3D printing. Explaining key concepts like infill percentage, shells, resolution, and the need for supports can be challenging. However, visual aids often provide the clarity needed for understanding. A helpful example is this infill display that demonstrates the effect of different infill percent settings. A one-inch cube was printed fifteen times with various settings to showcase the impact of infill percentages on a print. This display makes it easy to see how infill percentage affects a print, with cubes ranging from 0-20 percent infill in the first row and 25-50% infill in the next row, followed by 60-100% infill in the top row. For those looking to replicate this display for their classroom or elsewhere, instructions are available. Additionally, SketchUp files have been included for making changes as needed.
