Infill Pen Holder
thingiverse
This hack is based on the vase mode concept. Vase mode takes your model, shuts off infill and top surface. When your slicer slices it, you get an empty container with a solid bottom and no top surface. What I've done here is take a box that I previously printed in vase mode. This time instead of selecting vase mode, I had the following settings: Infill = Honeycomb Infill percentage = 6% Top layers = Zero When the slicer slices it, you get something similar to a vase but filled with loads of honeycomb holes that hold pens perfectly. I've done this with a box; there's no reason why it can't be done with other shapes such as circles etc. As to the color change, I ran out of red about 75% of the way into the print and swapped over to silver.
