Infected / Zombie Mecha
myminifactory
When you send a mecha to investigate some strange alien artifacts on a distant planet, you may find that it returns a little…different. This sculpt is a modification of my Lucy mecha at the same scale with inspiration taken from a brightly colored slime mold I saw crawl out of a pipe once (over the course of several days; this larger alien slime is surely quite a bit faster than that). Usage ideas: add a zombie or mimic-like transformation mechanic to scifi, robot-heavy games that otherwise lack such a feature. The model is intended to print as one solid piece at a height of about 48mm (slightly taller than the original Lucy due to the pose; the actual model parts are the same size). The supported version provided at that size is suitable for use with 30mm hex bases but can also stand on its own without a base. However, if it needs to stand on any strongly tilted or otherwise uneven surfaces then a base is probably a good idea. If using my supported version, I recommend removing the supports from the tentacles, feet/legs, and guns with snips. Once the limbs are free, depending on the fragility of the resin you’re using, you may be able to simply flex the raft and pop the rest of the body free.
