This is my first time working with Substance Painter. The model I'm using was created in Blender, and the texturing work is being done entirely within Substance Painter. One of the biggest challenges I faced was preparing the UVs for the shell - it's a complex shape that's been booleaned into a sphere, which left me with some tricky inner faces to deal with. To solve this problem, I had to create some obvious seams around the shell, but the magic of Substance Painter's generators actually made them look like natural dirt crevices instead of something artificial. I also made sure to use quad cylinders and smoothed cubes wherever possible to avoid any pinching issues. Overall, I'm really happy with how this turned out.
