Industrial Sewing Machine Cone Thread Holder
thingiverse
I needed a cost-effective solution to add more thread to my industrial sewing machine, rather than the flimsy metal rods that come with them. This idea might not be applicable to everyone, but it could prove useful for other purposes as well. A standard 1/2" Sched 40 T fitting fits perfectly onto my thread-stand pipe. I drilled a hole in the side and attached a bolt so I can tighten it (though it doesn't really need it). I added a horizontal 1/2" pipe and two more T's with uprights slightly longer than the cone height. The cone stand snugly fits over the T's, accommodating a cone thread holder much better than the thin metal rods typically used. This setup should fit most industrial size thread spools (1/2 lb and 1 lb spools). I have a small sample saddle available for printing to ensure your prints and pipes align correctly. A small scale adjustment up or down will likely result in a perfect fit. Please comment or post a make if this helps you out.
