Industrial Sewing Machine Cone Thread Holder

I wanted an inexpensive way to add more thread to my industrial sewing machine and not the flimsy little metal rods that come with them.

This might not be something that everyone can use - but the idea can be useful for other things.

A standard 1/2" Sched 40 T fitting is a perfect fit for my thread-stand pipe. I tapped a hole in the side and added a bolt so I could tighten it (though it doesn't really need it).

I added a horizontal 1/2" pipe and two more T's with uprights just a bit longer than the cone height.

The cone stand fits snugly over the T's and fits a cone thread holder much better than the thin metal rods that are normally used. This should fit most industrial size thread spools (1/2 lb and 1 lb spools).

I have a small sample saddle you can print to make-sure your prints and pipes match-up. I'm sure a small scale up/down would make a perfect fit.

Please comment/post a make if this helps you out.

Print Settings

Printer:

FLSUN i3 2017 Version

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

.2

Infill:

25%

Filament: Hatchbox PLA Blue

Notes:

Print upside down so the open-end is up.
