THIS IS AN ADJUSTABLE SENSOR CARRIAGE FOR AUTOMATIC BED LEVELING. THE MAIN ISSUE WITH AUTO LEVELING WAS THAT THE BED (MADE OF 3MM PLYWOOD) WOULD SOMETIMES WARP. ANOTHER POSSIBILITY IS THAT THE X-AXIS WOULD SLIDE OFF THE LEAD SCREW A LITTLE IF IT WASN'T PREHEATED BEFORE AUTO LEVELING. THIS ALWAYS MEANT REDOING ALL THE ADJUSTMENTS BETWEEN THE X-AXIS AND THE SENSOR HEIGHT. I ALSO DIDN'T LIKE THE ADJUSTMENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE IN THE FIRMWARE FOR SENSOR HEIGHT. THE POINT OF THE RACK AND PINION CARRIAGE FOR THE SENSOR IS TO REDUCE TIME SPENT ADJUSTING MECHANICAL PARTS AND FIRMWARE/SOFTWARE SETTINGS. DECREASING THE WEIGHT AND SIZE WAS ALSO A GOAL, WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF KEEPING THE SENSOR AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE NOZZLE. HARDWARE USED INCLUDES: 1. 4MM X 16MM WINGED BOLTS (I IMPROVISED THESE USING PLIERS AND WING NUTS) 2. 4MM LOCK NUTS 3. 3MM SET SCREWS 4. 3MM NUTS I HOPE YOU LIKE THIS DESIGN.
