THIS IS A MANUAL ADJUSTMENT SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATIC BED LEVELING. THE MAIN ISSUE I FACED WITH AUTO LEVELING WAS THE POTENTIAL FOR MY BED (MADE OF 3MM PLYWOOD) TO WARP, WHICH MEANT I HAD TO REPEAT ALL ADJUSTMENTS BETWEEN THE X-AXIS AND SENSOR HEIGHT. THIS RESULTED IN TIME SPENT ADJUSTING MECHANICAL PARTS AND FIRMWARE/SOFTWARE SETTINGS. MY GOAL WAS TO REDUCE WEIGHT AND SIZE WHILE KEEPING THE SENSOR AS CLOSE TO THE NOZZLE AS POSSIBLE, DECREASING TIME SPENT ON ADJUSTMENTS. TO ASSEMBLE THE RACK AND PINION CARRIAGE FOR THE SENSOR, FIRST SLIDE THE KEY COMPLETELY UPON THE ALLEN BOLT. TIGHTEN 2 M3 NUTS SO THEY ARE CENTERED RELATIVE TO THE RACK AND PINION GEAR. INSERT THE PINION INTO PLACE BY TIGHTENING TWO M3 NUTS REALLY TIGHTLY WHERE THEIR PROFILE MATCHES, THEN PUSH IT INTO THE PINION. FINALLY, TIGHTEN THE LAST M3 NUT AGAINST THE OUTSIDE PROFILE OF THE CARRIAGE. THIS SHOULD PROVIDE A SECURE FIT FOR EVERYTHING AND BRING THE DISTANCE FROM THE EXTRUDER DOWN. HARDWARE USED: 1. M3 X 20MM ALLEN BOLT 2. 3 M3 NUTS ENJOY!
