Inductive sensor mount for Folger Technologies E3D Direct Drive
thingiverse
I use an inductive sensor for bed autolevel but wanted to try this extruder with my new E3D V6. So I mixed this up in OpenSCAD. The OpenSCAD source is included, but uses the original clamp.STL as an import. You can print it without the integrated clamp and there are two holes provided which can be used to bolt it to the clamp instead. I've test fitted this but haven't actually used it yet as I'm still getting ready to install the new extruder. As I feared this was a little long for comfort. It's usable as I originally uploaded it but the 2_2 version fixes two major issues I had with the initial design: The sensor mount hung down a little too low, I was barely able to thread the nut on the bottom of my sensor and once I shrank the support shaft from my original design to bring the sensor closer to the nozzle I was worried about flex in the thinner shaft. Shortening the shaft by 8mm solved both of those concerns. Pulling the sensor closer to the shaft made it hard to get the top nut on and impossible to fit the lock washer under it. In the 2_2 version I added a cove to the support arm which provides clearance for the nut and washer. Print Settings Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Folger 2020 Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.24mm Infill: 15% Notes: With the front of the clamp and ring against the bed this will print without supports. The holes for the clamp print a little better with support but on my printer the ring comes out the same with or without. Supports aren't necessary, but if you prefer you can print it with the ring flat on the print bed and supports under the bracket.
