An induction sensor 4mm probe mount for Maker Select V2 or Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 is a game-changer for precise printing. Tested on the Maker Select V2, I was thrilled to find that mounts are essentially identical. To get started, I opted for the [LJ12A3-4-Z/BX-5V](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NYD4MVC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) sensor, but any 4mm inductive proximity sensor will do the trick. To mount it securely, I used slightly longer screws to attach the bracket on top of the fan mount. It's crucial to print this SOLID, with no flex or play in the bracket. To achieve a clean top surface, I printed the model upright with supports - although this did use more support material. Printing sideways is more efficient, but I wanted to avoid any support material scarring that might interfere with the sensor fit. Before installing the sensor, make sure to update your firmware. I used [this YouTube video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejpSniiJejI) by remain indoors to install my bootloader and followed the wiring in this [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tL4PZPHHfT0). However, I didn't like his mount placement, so I created my own custom solution. To wire the sensor, I tapped into the 5v from the SPI header and connected the signal and ground to the Z-STOP connector on the Melzi board. Adding a spring steel magnetic bed helped improve print removal significantly. According to the specs, the sensor should detect the stock aluminum bed at around 2mm - a major upgrade that's well worth it. Say goodbye to tedious bed leveling!
