A marine biologist conducts a thorough survey of the Pak Kasim area in Indonesia's Hoga, Wakatobi marine park, covering six quadrants that are 2x2 meters each. The photos used for this model are part of a shared-task data set from ImageCLEFcoral 2019-21. Participants develop deep learning algorithms to annotate 13 types of biological substrates based on the training data we provide at imageclef.org/2021/coral. A total of 270 images are captured using a 5-camera array in two passes, taking approximately 2 minutes with timelapse footage.
