Individualized Soda Can Lamp with LED or Candle
myminifactory
I put considerable thought into the task of repurposing the 250ml soda can. However, once they are opened, they become unstable, particularly when you attempt to cut them open with a knife. Therefore, I decided to keep the rim intact and only remove the lid by grinding down the connection. I'm fascinated by 3D printed lamps; they offer unique effects that a standard lamp cannot provide. As a result, I attempted to combine 3D printed components with aluminum cans. To create holes in the can, I discovered that it's essential to have a grid or template. After experimenting with various piercing methods, I found that a medical needle is the most effective tool. By printing the design on paper and taping it to the can, it can be easily transferred. I created a template sleeve for 3D printing, and the first prototype was born. For illumination, a simple candle with an optional base does the trick, but I soon switched to LEDs. To minimize electrical work, I chose to use 12V LED strips, which I've already employed in numerous projects. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this project, and I hope others will appreciate it just as much.
