Indiana Jones Pinball Subway Protector\Speed Wedge
thingiverse
I had a minor issue with my subway where it would occasionally get stuck on a stray ball, so I decided to modify the wedge/trough protector to suit. The problem with my subway is that its end doesn't open like the trough, but it does have a hole in it, so I modified the existing model's end to include a semi-circle hook that grabs onto the hole. I added a wall so that once screwed into place, it can't move up and unhook. I widened the protector to match the full width of my subway and tweaked the legs slightly to give them a more pronounced taper that suits my taste. Update: v3 is now uploaded, with a higher back wall to secure it even better - version 2 had a tendency to pop out. I've got between 200-300 games on this machine with the modified protector installed, including a weekend at a pinball event, and so far, so good. I can notice that it detects balls in the subway much faster now, which suggests that the speed wedge is doing its job. I still need to remove it and see how the ABS system holds up against the force of the ball. Please share any modifications you've made or results once installed.
