India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle took to the skies with its forty-second flight, PSLV-C40, successfully deploying a 710 kg Cartosat-2 Series Satellite for earth observation and thirty co-passenger satellites, all weighing around 613 kg at lift-off. Blasting off from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR in Sriharikota, PSLV-C40 was an unstoppable force. Among its impressive lineup of co-passengers were one Indian Microsatellite and one Nanosatellite, alongside three Microsatellites and twenty-five Nanosatellites hailing from Canada, Finland, France, Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, and the USA. Weighing a combined 1323 kg, these thirty-one satellites embarked on an extraordinary journey aboard PSLV-C40. Twenty-eight international customer satellites joined the launch roster under the banner of Antrix Corporation Limited (Antrix), India's Government of India company and commercial arm of ISRO - Department of Space (DOS). Friday, January 12, 2018, witnessed PSLV-C40/Cartosat-2 Series Satellite Mission take off at precisely 09:29 hours (IST), etching an unforgettable chapter in space history.
