Indexing Gear

This is a versatile device known as an indexing gear. The bigger gear keeps spinning and its partial teeth connect with the smaller gear, causing it to turn 180 degrees every time the larger gear rotates. This assembly employs skateboard bearings (608 ZZ) to produce smooth rotational motion. I built a pingpong ball hopper with a trigger attachment to show off the action.
