This Strumey Archer 8-speed internal gear hub thumb shifter assembly prototype, designed for a 3mm ball bearing and spring washer, aims to provide a satisfying 'click' between index stops. Created before testing a 5 Speed hub with available thumb shifter led to using online information for cable pull distance, so functionality isn't guaranteed but could be close. The Suntour down tube shift lever-based design features a replaceable and potentially more durable index ring, adaptable to different derailleurs or adjustments without reprinting. To-do list includes printable spring washer, snap-in retaining screw, more compact bearing ring and retaining cap, classier shift lever, and retainer cap.
