Index Clip for NATO Accessory Rail (Picatinny)
thingiverse
This is an update to my previous Picatinny rail cover designs. This single slot cover fits multiple rail sizes and is dimensioned from official specs. It has been tested on rails claiming conformity to Picatinny, Weaver, and NATO Accessory Rail standards as well as cheap airsoft knockoff rails. As long as the slot is approximately 5mm wide and 3mm deep, it should fit snugly. Print this design on the edge with one perimeter wall, no infill, and no top or bottom layers at any layer height you can manage. You may be able to print slightly faster using spiral mode or vase mode; test prints take about a minute as they are. I achieved best results printing multiple parts on a shared raft since there's limited surface area for the part to stick to the build plate, but your mileage may vary. Test prints were made with PETG, and given this design's nature and structure, it should work fine in any extruded plastic, including PLA. However, PLA may melt under direct sunlight on a black rifle. Note: These designs have not been field-tested.
