Incompletely Joined Coil
sketchfab
Section of a pot revealing hints of an imperfectly attached coil. Archaeologist Caroline Jeffra originally crafted the vessel using the wheel-coiling technique specified by Roux-Courty (1998), as illustrated below. View our blog post on wheel coiling here. A forming video is available via YouTube. Technical details follow. The original container was scanned with a David SLS-3 scanner. The part containing the relevant trace(s) was then isolated using 3D modeling software Maxon Cinema4D, enlarged three times, and exported to .STL format.
