Incised headstone, Kirkmadrine Church

This ancient Latin marker is one of several early stones discovered at Kirkmadrine Church in Dumfries and Galloway. The inscription "SET FLOREN TIUS" in bold Roman letters stretches horizontally beneath a circular Chi-Rho cross. It's been proposed that this stone was meant to be read as a continuation of an inscription on a nearby stone slab, effectively merging the two individuals into bishops like Viventius and Mavorius.
