Incineration transforms waste materials through high-temperature combustion, breaking down organic substances into their basic components. Thermal treatment, which includes incineration and other advanced waste management systems, effectively destroys hazardous waste and recycles valuable resources. When incinerated, waste materials are converted entirely into three primary outputs: ash, flue gas, and heat energy. The resulting ash is primarily composed of inorganic substances that have been separated from the organic waste components. This solid residue may take on various forms, including lumps or particulates suspended within the flue gases. Before these flue gases can be safely released into the atmosphere, they must undergo rigorous cleaning to eliminate any remaining pollutants. In some instances, the heat generated by incineration is harnessed and converted into electrical energy.
