In-Out Board

I created this tracker to keep tabs on our two cats. Here are some ideas for upgrading it since I no longer use it myself. It's a shame, really, because with a bit of effort, it could be much improved. Firstly, reducing the row size will allow for more names to fit comfortably. Secondly, interlocking the rows using dovetail joints at both the top and bottom will provide ample room for expansion. Thirdly, instead of writing the cat's names, I suggest adding slots for cardstock so that changing their names becomes a breeze. Fourthly, shortening the sliders and using paint to indicate the status will make it easier to read. Fifthly, rearranging the layout and incorporating holes at the bottom for neodymium magnets will add an extra level of functionality. Ideally, these magnets should be placed in the top of the bottom piece with a thin layer of material separating them from the metal surface. Lastly, considering a column-based design instead of rows could be beneficial. I actually created a similar tracker for my diabetic dog that utilized magnets to attach it to a fridge. It featured two rows and two columns labeled "AM" and "PM" respectively, along with labels for "FOOD" and "MEDS".
