In-Door Return Air Pathway
thingiverse
Human beings often overlook the necessity of a proper return air pathway and vent system in electronic cabinets, utility closets, and bathrooms. Sound dampening and reduced air hiss are two primary benefits of incorporating honeycomb into this design. Cardboard honeycomb inserts can serve as a cost-effective alternative. To assemble the vent, print SideA and SideB separately, then sandwich a honeycomb insert between them. Double-sided tape is applied to the inside of the flange for secure mounting to the door. The number of units required may vary depending on air-flow demands in the space; scaling up or down as necessary will ensure optimal performance. Optional angled louvers are included, allowing users to choose their preferred configuration. This design was specifically tailored for doors with a depth of 1 1/3" (~35mm).
