This lamp is an improvement over the "basic" model previously published. In this version the power port, switch and set screw are all built into the base resulting in a cleaner design. That said, it does complicate the wiring somewhat. The method I used was after first inserting the retaining nut for the power socket into the slot provided, soldering a length of wire (which depends on the size lamp you're making) to the female connector and feed the wire through the retaining nut and screw the socket in until fully seated. Next you cut the positive (red) lead about 2 inches (50mm) or so above the socket and solder each end to the switch. Put the switch into it's housing and stuff the connecting wire into the semi-circular slot that connects the socket housing with the switch housing. then feed the loose end of the wire through the aperture adjacent to the vertical mast and solder the end to the led strip before inserting it into the LiteBar. There is also a cover plate for the electrical connections. Please note that it is a compression fit and requires a fair amount of pressure to seat it. It will not come out in one piece so be sure to test your electrical circuit before you install it. Screws might have been a better solution. An improved version of the TriStripShade which includes trim pieces that hide the wiring can be found at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5915001 Otherwise, all the other hardware is the same as in the basic model: end caps, set screw cap, switch nut, MinPivots, and LiteBar. Dowel lengths are your choice.
