Improved Wheelchair Cupholder
thingiverse
Update: If you have a different wheelchair or don't have a spare swing-away arm, you might be able to use the RAM-mount-compatible version, possibly combined with the customizable wedge mount. This improved version of my original wheelchair cupholder is better suited for printing with an FDM printer and prints without supports. It works well for normal cups and glasses as well as coffee mugs. The opening on the side makes it easy to insert and remove stemmed wine glasses. This version is designed to lock into a swing-away arm, which is used for a Qtronix joystick. The part number is 882696 for right-hand or 882697 for left-hand. If you already have one, the swing-away assembly can be disassembled and reversed. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20 Notes: The part will be expected to flex so good layer adhesion is critical. After cooling, give the cupholder a squeeze and listen for the crackling sound of layer separation. Post-Printing: Break-Away Support: After cooling, use needle-nose pliers to remove the bridge support in the locking tab. The support is hollow and should snap off easily. It's okay if it leaves a few layers behind.
