Improved Tiny Whoop / Inductrix / E010 FPV frame 3 grams.
thingiverse
Hi, everybody! After long nights scouring the internet for the best available TW/E010/Micro FPV quad frame, I ended up looking at expensive but fragile CF/Alu frames weighing around 6 to 8 grams. Other frames were 3D printed, mimicking the original TW or E010 frames, meaning they are still prone to breaking and heavier than necessary. I decided to take matters into my own hands and started designing my own frame, basing it on previous experiences with small FPV quads. I aimed to achieve several key requirements in the design of this frame: - Lightweight, weighing only 3 grams, a crucial factor for any Tiny Whoop enthusiast. - Durable, minimizing the need for frequent rebuilds after crashes. - PropGuards, allowing you to continue flying even after hitting obstacles and protecting your electronics from damage. - Affordable, making it easy to 3D print or ask a friend to do so. Let's calculate the cost: a 1000gram roll of PLA costs approximately €20. Dividing that by 3 grams means you can create 333 frames per roll, costing just €0.06 each. - Easy to build and reproduce, requiring only 15-20 minutes after printing. The latest version is V1.2, featuring an H-shaped section in the middle to hold the battery. A small rubber band secures the battery and attaches to the outer flight controller mounting screws, running along the bottom of the frame over the H-section. Excluding the battery, the total weight will be approximately 21 grams. My setup includes 6mm coreless motors with a 59,000 RPM rating, bee-core electronics, and a 1s 200-300mAh battery. For flight computers, I've used the Beecore_F3, but I'm confident that the Inductrix and Bee Brain FC will fit without issues. Give it a try and share your builds and experiences! EDITS: 14-08-2017 - Added a 7mm motor version of the frame. 2-10-2017 - Introduced a new 7mm version, slightly larger and easier to fit props. Motor mount dimensions were updated for 100% scale printing. This 7mm version is a blast to fly compared to 6mm! 2-10-2017 - Another update: I added a bigger frame for 7mm motors that can accommodate 46mm props.
