Improved Stomp Rocket Base
thingiverse
I despised the base that came with Stomp Rocket toys, finding it always fell apart and lacked strength. Deciding to create something better, I quickly designed a new base that is hopefully more solid and ready for use right out of the box. This design splits into two parts for two key reasons. Firstly, printing becomes much easier without supports. Secondly, if you omit the post, you can use it on flat hard surfaces like driveways or sidewalks... You can either drill the design to accommodate the carriage bolt and wingnut that hold the tubes together, or in my case, I simply super-glued them. Other than that, the hoses fit snugly. UPDATE: My brother-in-law also owns a similar Stomp Rocket and encountered the same problem with the base being subpar. He printed a version of my design but asked why things didn't fit tightly. Upon measuring hose and tube diameters, we discovered they are slightly different! So, even identical products from the same company can have variations in their manufacturing. No guarantees it will fit yours; I suggest printing a fast, low-res model with minimal infill to test things out. You can then scale as needed for the final version.
