Improved Prusa MMU2 spool holder roller
prusaprinters

This is a remix of two great ideas to improve the spool holders that come with the mmu2(s)

https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/2073-prusa-spool-mmu2-holder-upgrade-bearings
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3113520

First is a clamp to hold down the bearings.
Second is to use an PVC tube to make a larger roller and greatly reduce friction.

I already used the first Thing when i found i had problems with friction. Then i found the second Thing. But the PVC tube is U.S. size, i live in Europe. And also i have spools of almost 90mm, and this only takes upto 85mm.

So i combined the ideas and created 90mm rollers out of 32mm PVC tubing (grey version, thick wall) which are clamped so they don't fall out.

TODO: filament guide. This needs to be higher so that the filament is not touching the rollers

For the roller i used a piece of 90mm long grey PVC tube with a diameter 32mm (inner diam approx. 25.5mm, white tubes have a larger inner diameter), if the roller is not rolling freely once installed, you need to make it smaller.

The bearing_holder needs supports to print, but i found is was easy to remove it.
The axis_buffer needs a brim to print.

Print instructions

0.2mm layer

The bearing_holder needs supports to print, but i found is was easy to remove it.
The axis_buffer needs a brim to print.
