Improved Minimus Cooler for Minimus Hotend Cooler System
thingiverse
This configuration utilizes a stock Creality hot end and 2 stock part cooling blowers along with the stock heatsink fan. And now with parts for use with stock metal BL Touch Bracket. I'm Going to supply cad files so you cad savvy people can modify for other fan configurations. Testing with overhang calibration parts resulted in me lowering my fan speed to 20% for PETG "with my setup" YMMV. What are the claimed improvements? - - 1 Added a couple strategic miner flanges that significantly stiffened the cooler frame 2 Redesigned the BL Touch bracket to add "some" extra rigidity. 3 Created new locking features for the frame to backplate and fan ducts to frame connections. Very positive locking now. 4 Separated the paths of the Bowden Tube and cable harness. The Bowden tube no longer has that pretty extreme initial bend if you're using the cable management configuration. 5 Redesigned the cable harness connection bracket to except the less abrasive split cable shielding. 6 While redesigning the frame, implemented aligning the top of the frame mounting blocks to the top of the back plate mounting flanges to give a visual verification of a proper connection between the frame and the backplate.(see 4th photo) 7 Took the angle out of the frames 2 front vertical flanges to also aid in visual verification that frame is mounted square and level. 8 Pockets added under the bottom 4 corners aid in them not lifting. (See first part) 9 Increased the angle of heatsink fan lower part of shroud to help keep airflow off heat block with the goal to eliminate the occasional thermal error while heating for a print that seems to be a byproduct of the Minimus. 10 Now Parts For Use With Stock Metal BL and CR Touch Brackets! - - New 0157 Ducts with more Z clearance - - - - New 0157 Ducts Thicker Duct Frame To Minimize Loosening Due To Frame Bowing - - - - Instructions: - - Material PETG Preferred Print Frame first and use horizontal expansion in cura to fit fans to your liking. (regular support, increase support join distance to 10 to join single line supports with other supports so they wont fall over during printing.) Print backplate and use horizontal expansion to fit with nice snap fit to Frame (No support needed) Print ducts last and use horizontal expansion for good snap fit to frame (Tree support) Cable Shielding: https://a.co/d/8fX630S $13.99 for 25' $18.99 for 50' Now with clips to mount cable shielding to printer frame for routing I think I got it all.... - Special thanks to Rogue Paul the original creator for coming up with such an innovative design!!! - - Enjoy and let’s all have some fun!
