Improved! iPhone Gear Case with Geneva Mechanism
thingiverse
Purchase this iPhone 4/4s case from my Shapeways shop at http://www.shapeways.com/model/997471/iphone-gear-case-for-shapeways.html?li=modelEdit. This design, created and drawn by me, is easier to print, stronger, and offers a better fit compared to the first case. Gears beneath buttons and sliders are accessible due to removed areas, while a cutout around the headphone port accommodates larger jacks without removing the case. Edges prevent screen touching when placed face down, and beveled ledges ease printing without support. Obtain ideas from jessed's Geneva Mechanism and utilize msruggles' gear generator for profiles. Print one of each part except 3x2.75mm pins (two needed), glue the case ridge onto the shell, sand gear faces for smooth spinning, and attach gears using pins. Finally, secure with glue and spray gears with CRC Heavy Duty Silicone for seamless operation.
