Improved iPad or Tablet Microphone Stand Mount with 3 Degrees of Freedom
thingiverse
I recently acquired an iPad Pro, the massive original model, and discovered it was too bulky for my existing mount. To address this issue, I created an upgraded hexagonal spindle with an enhanced release mechanism. If you plan to use it with a heavy device like the iPad Pro, I recommend drilling a small hole through the spindle and inserting a paperclip to prevent it from coming loose. You'll need parts from your original holder for assembly. The new hex spindle is not a complete circle, allowing it to be printed sideways without supports. This design choice makes the central cylinder significantly stronger while slightly compromising its stability. However, printing with support would be even more challenging. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 4 Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Notes: For optimal results, each piece must be printed in the correct orientation. Refer to the original Thing (736296) for detailed instructions, as only the spindle's printing orientation has changed.
