Improved Frame Vertex
thingiverse
This improved frame vertex solves print height and X-max issues, allowing for 100mm height printing and better X-max reach. Without it, printing height would be around 60~70mm at X-max, causing significant loss. The Prusa Mendel build's 60/60/60 rod system can block the X-carriage due to the stepper motor protrusion and diagonal rods limiting X-max and Z-height. To solve this problem, a new frame vertex part was designed, tested, and installed, increasing print area to nearly full 187x187x100mm (some may achieve 200x200x100mm). The solution involves replacing the old frame vertex on the X-max side with the new one, shortening the rod to a minimum of 23cm length. The part is solid and designed using Google Sketchup. Enjoy larger model printing!
