Improved Extruder Arm with adjustable tension

thingiverse

This modified extruder arm features an adjustable tension screw that can be easily tweaked to your liking. I designed this after realizing my original extruder plate modifications (check out the thingiverse version here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2414477) didn't quite get the tension right. Initially, I had moved the back plate back for the spring because it was too tight. Now, with this modified arm, I've beefed up the area where the screw goes and added two slots for a flathead driver to loosen or tighten the system as needed. This setup makes it much easier to get the spring in place before adjusting the tension. I've also tightened the extruder so that it skips during manual extrusion on the dial (usually around the second or third turn). To install the screw, simply insert it from the inside – be careful not to push the bump for the spring through the hole.
