The original DC fan holder may suffice for some, but I opted for a wider and longer (40x50 instead of 40x40) fan, along with a thickness of 32mm, equipped with two fans and motors to ensure durability. An unconventional M3.5 bolt size necessitated redesigning. Instead of housing the large fan inside the holder, I used two flat pieces on either end for better fitment. My clamp arm doesn't parallel the wood, starting at 4mm and ending at 5, to ensure a more secure grip with added force. To facilitate easy attachment, I tapered the arm by 2mm and adjusted bolt holes by 1mm. The arm length is not as long as the fan, preventing interference with the Z-endstop. Due to the fan's 10mm width increase, it ends 15mm short of the back wall. Check out the blog post for more details: http://marcuswolschon.blogspot.com/2011/05/thing-o-matic-cooling-z-stepper.html
