Improved CNC Cam Clamp (Shapeoko, X-carve, etc)
thingiverse
Two critical holes on the cam enable it to function in both directions, simply rotate the lever towards the bolt you are using by turning it in the direction of the adjacent arrow. The hole marked with a counter-clockwise arrow is slightly recessed and provides added versatility by moving only half as far as the hole with the clockwise arrow. Please share your thoughts on whether the clamp has been helpful to you, and more importantly, if you encounter any issues with them. I will continue using them myself and update these files here if I make any improvements. UPDATE April 16, 2020: The cam and lever have undergone several revisions in order to enhance versatility with different stock sizes. The new cam design provides a more even clamping offset between various faces. The new lever arm holes were angled slightly to offer optimal leverage for the revised cam profile and provide finer control when clamping.
