I've owned several blenders over the years, and I always end up losing the screw-on base ring due to cracking in one of two ways: either it shatters vertically at the top edge, or it splits horizontally where the blender jar bottoms out against the inside of the ring. I've also experienced the threads skipping because of minimal thread engagement with the jar. This design solves all three problems. It adds a reinforcing ring at the top to prevent vertical cracks at the top edge. The added height provides more thread engagement with the jar. And it eliminates eight of the twelve vertical notches (only four are needed) to provide more material in the area prone to horizontal cracks. Fits most Hamilton Beach blenders. **UPDATE:** I discovered that Hamilton Beach makes blenders with three ribs instead of four, so I've added a version with three slots around the perimeter instead of four. **Printing** I recommend printing in PLA as it tends to give you the best layer adhesion, which is critical for the integrity of this part. Use a 0.2mm layer height and at least four or five perimeter lines for a full-strength part.
