Improved A/B motor mount for Voron 1
thingiverse
While everyone is busy with their high-end Voron 2.1 builds, I decided to give the good old Voron 1 (and 1.5) a little upgrade. I noticed that proper belt tension on V1 tends to tilt stepper motors off axis and therefore compromises the toothing between pulley and the belt is compromised. Also, the tiny bearings inside the motors won't like the high tension applied to them, leading to annoying belt grinding and poor noise insulation. This modification adds a similar small closed-loop belt stage as V2 has, which enables crazy belt tensions on V1, saves motor bearings, and helps with noise insulation. The part is designed to look exactly like the original. However, you will lose 1 mm of Y-axis length as a result. E1: I fixed the chaotic orientation of STL files. E2: I changed bearings to F695 flanged ones, made some tweaks to ease printing, and created sensible-sized STL files. E3: I decreased the thickness of the parts by 2 mm, added one additional support post to prevent bearings from coming out of their place, updated BOM for new hardware, and left renders outdated. E4: I added a special version of part A for Astrosyn dampers (marked with _ast ending).
