Impossible Pedestal (Tensegrity Sculpture)
thingiverse
My take on "impossible" tensegrity sculptures :D Tensegrity sculptures seem to defy gravity at first glance, rising above expectations with an air of defiance. They hold themselves up thanks to the tension in the strings, which is precisely what their name implies; a perfect blend of tension and integrity. ASSEMBLY Start by bonding top_arm firmly to the top, connecting base_arm to top_arm via a piece of string threaded through its holes. Secure both ends with knots to prevent the string from escaping. Next, attach base_arm to the base, providing additional support for the structure by placing something under the top (I used cropped toilet paper rolls). Insert 4 pieces of string through the corresponding holes on the top and tie knots to keep them in place. Flip the sculpture so it's sitting upside down and thread the strings through their respective holes in the base. Apply hot glue to the hole, holding the string taut as the glue cools. Repeat this process three more times. I'd love to see your own creations come to life!
