Impossible Dovetail Remixed
thingiverse
I loved the Impossible Dovetail idea and wanted to design something similar, but with an exciting twist. To get started, you'll need to print both PART A and PART B. I've provided two versions of the puzzle - a medium-sized one (60mm diameter) and a mini version (30mm diameter). The parts are designed with a 0.15mm clearance in mind, so be sure to use a reasonably accurate printer or prepare for some filing/sanding if necessary. On my P3Steel, it fit together perfectly right off the bed. I'm currently working on adding some key features to this design, and you can expect an update soon. Update: I've added 1.5mm pin holes in each leg of PART A to accommodate three 5mm long pins (cut from a paper clip or other suitable 1mm wire). Place these pins in PART A before assembly. These locking pins act as the key to unlocking the dovetail - simply spin the assembly to move the pins into the deeper holes in PART A. Update: I've added a 0.05mm clearance version for those who can print it with ease.
