Impossible dovetail puzzle
myminifactory
I wanted to create a challenging Christmas gift for my nephews and nieces. While browsing the internet, I stumbled upon Clickspring machined impossible dovetail puzzle on YouTube. The intricate design and craftsmanship inspired me to take on the challenge of designing one myself. Taking it as an inspiration, I modified it slightly and added some extra features to make it even more challenging. To build this project, you'll need a few essential items: One 10mm steel ball (with a second optional) Two 4mm x 2mm round neodymium magnets Glue Optional: Pliers for inserting the magnet All parts print without supports and are exported with the right orientation to import directly into your preferred slicer. I used standard 0.2mm layer settings on my ZYYX+ 3D printer. It's crucial that the pieces fit together perfectly, so you'll need a well-tuned printer. In my case, it printed flawlessly on my ZYYX+, but keep in mind that you may need to adjust some settings based on your printer's specifications. SPOILER ALERT! I've deliberately left out the solution to this puzzle, and if you want to know how it works, visit this link. Watching friends and family struggle to figure out how to open it is truly entertaining - they'll be going nuts trying to crack the code!
