Impossible Dovetail Joints
thingiverse
Create this bewildering puzzle and leave others to ponder how such intricate dovetail joints were assembled! Visit my blog for a step-by-step tutorial on crafting this object using Autodesk Inventor's master sketch method (http://wp.me/p3gI7M-64). Don't worry, printing these components is straightforward - mine are made from PLA filament with 0.25mm layer thickness and two shells, no support needed. The overhangs should pose no problem during the print process. There is a clearance of 0.5mm in the dovetails to ensure the puzzle remains secure when handled. However, I've revised the files with a reduced clearance of 0.25mm (available in the zip file), and reprinting Part A at 0.25mm and Part B at 0.5mm guarantees a perfect snap-fit. Enjoy the challenge!
