Impossible Bolt
thingiverse
This mind-bending bolt showcases a technique called "co-processing," where you can alter a 3D printed part right as it's being created. It's also a super fun 3D printed item to amaze your friends with! This simply includes the file for the bolt and uses a 1/2-13 nut. Check out my blog: https://printeraction.wordpress.com/ and watch my video about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGW6zMLpge8&feature=youtu.be FOR METRIC VERSION: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:688972 Instructions Stop the print when the bolt is roughly halfway printed and screw a 1/2-13 nut onto the bolt. The MakerBot Replicator 2s lower their build plates once you select "change filament." If you're using a different printer, it makes sense to print two bolts, then screw the nut onto one of them while paused over the other.
