Import of Mica is one of three sites tested by A.P. McCartney in 1971, and has become the type-site for the Cape Glazenap Phase. This massive village of nucleus-satellite corporate households dates approximately to 1000-1200 CE. Research was conducted under grants NSF 9630072, NSF 9814086, NSF 9996372, NSF 9996415, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411, led by H. Maschner as Principal Investigator. Western Alaska Peninsula artifacts were scanned with either a Faro Edge Arm or a Minolta Vivid 9i, processed in Geomagic or Polyworks using 2-8 photos for texture in Geomagic Wrap. Original digitizing work was done at the IVL at Id. St. Univ., while subsequent processing and publication were completed at Global Digital Heritage. McCartney's findings are presented in APUA 16(1):59-84, 1974, as well as Maschner's research published on January 1, 2004, in Arctic Anthro, vol. 41, no. 2, pages 98-111.
