Imperial Shuttle Wing Gear Adaptor

Imperial Shuttle Wing Gear Adaptor

thingiverse

I designed this fix for my own Vintage Imperial Shuttle where the wing pins had snapped off and wouldn't allow the gears to attach anymore, or the wings to fold. This fits snugly over the three remaining pegs in the wing (Check out the photos) and lets the original wing gear index onto the printed part, securely locking it into place. This restored the original operation of the folding wings on my shuttle, and since it worked for me, it might just work for you too. This is not a replacement for the original gears - you'll still need to have those on hand. What this does instead is re-lock the gear and wing together without gluing or modifying any of the original parts. It's a pretty straightforward part to print, but feel free to print it solid if you prefer. I printed mine with about 10-15% infill. Here are my print settings: * Layer height: .3 * Perimeters: 2 * Top layers: 3 * Bottom layers: 3 * Supports: no * Raft: no It prints in around 30 minutes at a speed of 40mm/s.
