Imperial Destroyer - The DEVASTATOR

Imperial Destroyer - The DEVASTATOR

Hello young Padawan, After more than a year of preparation and 400 hours of modeling, I am happy to present you my version of the Star Destroyer, the "Devastator" from the SW license. The destroyer was actually 1,600 meters long, the standard length of an Imperial-class star destroyer. So to keep that scale of size, I drew a high-definition model with non-standard proportions: 1 meter (long) x 0.56 (wide) x 0.29 (high). In order to be adapted to traditional printers such as the Prusa Mk3, Ultimaker 2 or Ender-3 for example, the ship is divided into a dozen modules of ±180x180x180mm. These are playfully assembled together using cylindrical pins and some strong glue. Every detail has been carefully designed to easily print 0.2mm layers (with a Ø0.4mm nozzle) without excessive overhang, the dream. The .stl files are already oriented to get the best possible result when printing. → https://youtu.be/4vHGSstSzkU To suspend it in the air, 4 holes are inlaid on the top side so that a fishing line can be slipped through (see picture). I also designed 2 adapted bases, they are available here : → https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/gadget/base-pour-destroyer-the-devastator The sequel, the "Interdictor" Destroyer of the same scale, is currently being modeled for the more motivated. Stay tuned! ► Notes 22/10: "SW_Devastator_Master_Cr & Cl" modules must have supports, tray only! ► Notes 23/11: I use PrusaSlicer to prepare my prints. Warning: I am in no way affiliated with Disney or Lucas Arts, this is a fan-representation. Star Wars and all related material are trademarks. Also don't forget to post your achievements. :) Studiopk™
