Imperial Comm Pad box for Troop Case
thingiverse
I needed a way to transport my light-up comm pad safely without it bouncing around, especially for my Tie Pilot/Reserve Pilot costumes. That's where this design comes in. The model is designed to fit almost any standard comm pad used for these costumes, and you can even line the inside with felt or another material to prevent scratching. I based the size on my own comm pad, leaving plenty of room to spare. Post-printing updates: I placed one snap attachment into the built-in divot on the front using Super Glue. Next, I created a small strap from the accompanying snap piece and some elastic, then attached it to the back with more Super Glue. This allows the strap to fit over the top of the comm pad in the groove. That's about it for now. My plan is to attach this holder to the inside of my troop case using Heavy Duty Velcro so it stays secure. I'll also add some paint to the recessed areas to make them stand out.
