The Statue of Imperatriz Leopoldina stands proudly alongside her two children, Maria da Glória, who would one day become Queen Dona Maria II of Portugal, and Dom Pedro II, the future Emperor of Brazil. Originally cast in bronze, it takes center stage in the beautiful garden of Quinta da Boa Vista Palace, which is now part of the National Museum collection. To scan this magnificent piece of art, a portable Peel2 scanner was used with great care.
