Project 2 Impeeler Assembly for MCEG 1021-P05, submitted by ABDULLAH SAFDAR (STUDENT ID: P21019028) is due on November 25th, 2015, to Professor DR. BURRS STEPHANIE. This Mechanical Engineering Drawing I project involves designing and assembling eight parts: Top Housing, Bottom Housing, Impeller, Impeller Shaft, Bolt, Washer, Nut, and Shaft Key. The submission includes a step-by-step procedure of modeling each part and assembling them into an impeller assembly. The bottom housing was designed by offsetting a curve, extruding, and revolving it 180 degrees to create a half-circular shape. Top housing design involved creating a box on top of the housing, subtracting a block from its middle to create a hole, and rotating it 180 degrees on the x-axis. The impeller was created as a cone with specific dimensions, followed by sketching a blade using combinations of arcs and lines. The bolt design involved creating a cylinder with a hexagon on top, threading it to the right hand, and having a diameter of 0.25 inches and a height of 1.5 inches. The nut was designed with a polygon extrusion, threaded inside hole to the right hand, and a central hole. The washer and key designs were also included in the submission. The impeller shaft was designed as part of the assembly process. Finally, all parts were assembled in the SolidWorks Assembly environment using touch align and concentric options. A picture of the final design is provided at the end of the report. Overall, this project has been an amazing and interesting experience for the student.
